What Causes Hemorrhoids
What causes hemorrhoids? Hemorrhoids can be caused
by several factors, but lets take a look firstly of what
they are.
Hemorrhoids or piles which is what they are sometimes called
are blood vessels located in the anus and rectum that have
expanded and ballooned due to excess pressure on the wall of
the vein.
There are several causes of hemorrhoids including diet and
life styles, not to mention it can be hereditary, some people
are just more prone to getting them than others. Diet does
play a major role in whether or not you get hemorrhoids and
the subsequent cure and prevention of hemorrhoids. Eating
plenty of green leafy vegetables such as spinach, cabbage,
lettuce and alfalfa in your diet will help prevent them.
Also drinking plenty of water and eating high fiber regularly
will help soften stools and keep you having regular bowel
movements. Doing some light exercise every day will also
help with blood flow and strengthen the tissue walls.
Other common causes of hemorrhoids are; sitting in one place
for long periods, at the office desk or on the toilet. Lifting
heavy weight or straining when lifting puts excessive pressure
on the blood vessels. Straining whilst passing a stool and
child birth both put excessive pressure on the veins in the
rectal area, causing hemorrhoids.
Some of the symptoms of external hemorrhoids you will experience
are; pain, discomfort, itchiness, burning irritation, most
of which can be relieved by eating supplements and using over
the counter creams. internal hemorrhoids however are not usually
noticed or diagnosed until they rupture and cause bleeding, if
this occurs, please seek medical help as soon as possible.
